<h3>Submission Process:</h3>
<ol>
<li><strong>Call for Extended Abstracts:</strong> A call for extended abstracts will be issued, inviting selected presenters to submit longer abstracts.</li>
<li><strong>Selection of Extended Abstracts:</strong> Chosen extended abstracts will receive invitations to submit a full-length paper.</li>
</ol>

<h2 class="display-5">HMGSG Travel Award</h2>

<p>The Health and Medical Geography Specialty Group (HMGSG) of the American Association of Geographers is offering up to two travel awards for the International Medical Geography Symposium (IMGS) Meeting, July 14th - 19th, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia.
This award provides financial support for graduate and undergraduate students who plan to present on a health/medical geography topic at the conference. To be considered for the award, please complete the <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd4Cuoov4SLS0qQ9WeUiiLHWvwcZyhE0Pvi1AQ5vse_7HMshQ/viewform">following form</a> <strong>no later than April 15th, 2024.</strong>

The number and amount of the awards will be determined by the number of submissions and the amount of travel costs not covered by the home institution. The HMGSG board will determine the winner(s) based on the quality of the abstract, financial need, and record of past scholarship. <strong>We intend to notify awardees by May 1st, 2024</strong>.
